Parishioners at St Joseph’s were among the first to congratulate Mary and Jim Parsons on the occasion of their Diamond Wedding anniversary. After Mass, Fr. Tim presented them with a framed blessing from the Pope. They were accompanied by Mary’s guide dog Wesley who has now become a regular attendee at Mass.

After the service, the couple celebrated with a glass of prosecco and a fine spread (including a cake!).

This is the start of a week of celebrations for Mary and Jim who will be welcoming family members from the other side of the world.

We were delighted to welcome a contingent of approximately 50 scouts (some not in the picture if you’re counting!) from the 22nd Southgate Scout Group and their leaders to our Mass at St Joseph’s on 28th July. They were visiting Dorset for a one-week holiday and impressed us with their friendly manner and active participation in the Mass.
